Microsoft FrontPage 2000

Customizing Horizontal Lines

It's easy to customize horizontal lines into something more than a two-point bar.  Right-click on the line and choose Properties, then change the properties of your rule.

Creating Templates

Build your own corporate-standard Web templates by choosing File/Save As, specifying a URL and selecting FrontPage Template from the Save as type option.  Now, whenever you create a new page, the new template will appear as an option.

Incorporating Other’s Ideas

Incorporate ideas from other sites into your own Web pages. In FrontPage Editor, select File/Open Location.  Type in the URL of the page you admire. When the page comes up, choose Save and the page, with all included graphics, will be saved for you.

Maintain Link Integrity

To check and correct hyperlinks, open the Tools menu and choose Follow Link, or click on the link while holding down the Ctrl key.  This even works for image maps.

Drag-and-Build Links

Display the folder list while in Page View, then select a document in the view.  Drag this document onto the desired location in FrontPage Editor and it will automatically become a hyperlink.

Borderless Tables

You can add extra control to formatting using borderless tables.  Right-click on any table, choose Table Properties and set the Border Size parameter to 0.

Consistent Look

To standardize the appearance of each page in your website, you can "borrow" the Page Properties from another page, rather than setting the properties on each page individually. Click File/Page Properties. Click on the Background tab, then click "Get Background and Colors from Page". Then click Browse and locate the page on your web from which to take the background and colors.
